My Physics Professor calls me "Lux"—the unit of brightness. Most others mispronounce my name as Lakshya, but that's okay.

Math has sometimes been the greatest nemesis of good sleep, and sometimes it's been the greatest ally. This duality makes math incredibly appealing—the thrill of solving a problem that at first gave me goosebumps is still largely unmatched. Bayes' theorem is my personal favorite in Math—it's just a beautiful condensation and mockery of condition-based probability.
I initially started coding because I just loved seeing prescribed case studies and developing Python programs to implement solutions. However, after collaborating with peers to use technology for social good, I've come to treat coding as more than an exercise of problem-solving. Finding a way to use my skills to bring positive change in society is the greatest reward of programming.
I'm no Magnus Carlsen. I don't aspire to be. My interest in chess stemmed from my father's yearly routine of hosting an "Intrafamily Chess Championship" at the family's rural home. For the past 9 years, I have looked to learn more openings and experiment with new playing lines to find a way to get past my father and my 10 cousins who have partaken—I decided to use Stockfish 15 (the best chess computer) in 2022 for my preparation and I finally won in 2023 (probably the best day of my life). More than strategy-making, chess taught me perseverance and showed me how technology can complement human skill development.

Everybody wishes they had that one friend who they could share anything with 24/7. So did our team — and we therefore set out to create Serenity — offering a chatbot that is trained to provide human-like responses and recommend professionals if need be. We never seeked to replace human professionals with chatbots, we ensured that the chatbot was an additive tool for professionals and not subtractive. I never felt satisfied with the level of empathy our chatbot showed until I was able to vouch for its efficacy myself.
Developed a hearing aid that can translate and amplify voice in real-time using ESP modules. I used arduino to program the hardware and used APIs from Deepgram and Google Cloud to carry out the translation and speech conversion processes.
Having seen farmers in rural areas in my state suffer during summers, I came to also realize that most farmers have to grow crops with less nutrient-rich water, which often leads to water wastage and creates inefficiencies. After studying sedimentation and filtration processes in Chemistry, I realized that these can be applied to filter waste water which we often burden the city’s already fragile and under-developed sewage network with. The water could even yield the NPK elements, which are essential for fertilizers and increasing plant growth. To further increase efficiency for farmers, we also used machine-learning algorithms to ensure that the sensor only gives output signals to output as much nutrients as is required for optimal plant growth using first and second-order differentiation.
After being elected as the Deputy Head Boy of my high school, I digitised the process of extracting notes and gaining information about events by modifying the council website.
Helping children in middle school and early years of high school develop an interest in problem-solving my creating problem sets that challenge their problem solving skills rather than their knowledge of programming syntax.
Helped team of developers build "general AI" that is capable of doing all tasks and is not restricted to one domain in terms of its capabilities. Applied my classroom learnings in Computer Science to modularize multiple files of code to allow developers to resue important functions and save time.
After seeing my peers lose marks for not writing 'Key Terms' in examinations despite understanding concepts, I came to appreciate the art of answer writing in examinations. In view of this, me and my peer trained a chatbot that can respond in mark-scheme specific language by feeding it a corpus of marking schemes to structure its vocabualry and answer styles. Over time, I came to realize the importance of accurate information retrieval from marking schemes, which prompted me to evaluate retriever accuracy and optimization in a research paper.
Apart from staying in the city of Jaipur for over 12 years, I have also gotten the opportunity to travel the world and explore new forms of architecture. However, most tourists tend to neglect structures that are historically significant but not popularized publically; therefore, I decided to collaborate with tourist guides to build an app that can alert users about monuments in their geographic vicinity.
